During my eighth grade year of middle school, the issue came up that our school mascot, the King Cobra, was closely related to a gang and thus had to be changed.

So the gang related King Cobra had to go...and to distance ourselves from any unintentional association with an organization that may or may not alter our impressionable young minds, we became the Panthers.
